Get to know Platinum Tickets

A ticket only option for in-demand areas and views in the house, available at market-driven prices.

Platinum Tickets are in demand tickets to concerts and other events made available by artists and event organisers through Ticketmaster. They give fans fair and safe access to in-demand seats at market-driven prices (adjusting prices according to supply and demand). Platinum tickets are ticket-only purchases and prices are subject to change at any time.

Make sure you have a My Ticketmaster account

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance – Ticketmaster.com.au. In your account, add your favourite acts and events to your ‘Favourites’ and you’ll get alerts and email reminders before every onsale.

Sign in ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, delivery address, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Get online at home

Or work (we won’t tell). Shared public wifi networks can slow you down when speed is what you need.

Sign up to all the presales

Many fan clubs, promoters, venues, and sponsors/companies give fans the chance to get live event tickets before the general public. Every event is different, so make sure you check what perks you’re eligible for and sign up for anything well ahead of time. They may begin and end at different times, so to be one of the first people with a chance at getting tickets make sure you do your research. You can find all the presale information here.

Use more than one device

Two fans are better than one – pass a friend your tablet or phone. Use your phone and your laptop at the same time. Use your phone and someone else’s phone. But make sure you don’t use more than one browser (or browser tab) on each device. We’ll think you’re a bot and cancel your tickets – and after all the hard work you’ve gone to, that’s the last thing we want to happen.

Don’t hit the refresh button

Stick to one window when you’re processing your ticket order and please don’t hit the refresh button. If you do that, you’ll likely end up losing your place in the queue, and as frustrating as it can be, patience is key when trying to buy tickets. Ticketmaster’s sophisticated systems are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen is doing all the hard work for you and will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Please note, if you see a ‘no tickets available’ message when attempting to purchase tickets, this means there are no tickets available within your search restrictions.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as they’re progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Keep your options open with ‘Best available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep checking back

Keep checking back several hours after the onsale to see if the event provider has added more shows, as well as a week to a few hours before the show when event providers sometimes release additional seats.

Follow Ticketmaster’s social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for constant updates and even more onsale reminders

Consider taking a road trip

Head to a nearby city where tickets for a super popular show may be easier to get. On Ticketmaster.com.au click “Change Location” under your city (top, right of page) and look around for events nearby. Elton John’s tour also includes a number of regional dates – and sometimes it’s a bonus to have an excuse to get out of the city.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are literally hundreds and sometimes thousands of customers simultaneously attempting to purchase tickets across all distribution channels. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is as popular as Elton John, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

Elton John will farewell Australia from November 2019 until January 2020. For more information on pre-sale and onsale dates and times, head to ticketmaster.com.au/eltonjohn.
