Twisted Broadway – Australia’s most unique performing arts charity fundraiser – returns to Melbourne for its biggest and most dazzling show yet, as it arrives at the renowned Regent Theatre for the very first time.

Twisted Broadway re-imagines contemporary and classic music theatre numbers with a spectacular, one-night-only performance featuring some of Australia’s finest television and music-theatre performers.

How? Well it gives those stars a stage and songs originally written for the opposite gender.

It’s hilarious AND it’s for a great cause.

Twisted Broadway (based on the Broadway Cares fundraiser, Broadway Backwards) was first staged seven years ago and has since grown to a major event in Australia’s Musical Theatre calendar. The charity event has so far raised over $110,000 for those living with and touched by HIV/AIDS and has engaged over 300 artists, crew, designers, venue staff and administrators within the performing arts industry.

Twisted Broadway is a proud supporter of the Victorian AIDS Council (VAC) & Oz Showbiz Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. VAC leads the fight against HIV in Victoria by providing care and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV), health promotion, and advocacy. VAC continues to lead the response by providing a range of services which include prevention education, treatment and care of PLHIV and counselling services.

The Gordon Frost Organisation have kindly donated the use of the Regent Theatre for this year’s concert which is to be staged on the set of Michael Harrison, David Ian and John Frost’s production of The Bodyguard.

Ticketmaster is immensely proud to support Twisted Broadway.

Twisted Broadway takes over Melbourne’s Regent Theatre on Monday 2 October.
