Photos: First look at Circus 1903 ahead of world premiere in Australia

Circus 1903 is a truly magnificent production bringing to life the golden age of circus like never before.

Ahead of the show’s world premiere in Canberra this December, we sneaked along for a preview of the show at the official press call today.

The unique and jaw-dropping show brings together world-class performers from all corners of the globe, from strong men and acrobats to contortionists and knife throwers, it packs in everything the circus became famed for back at its inception.

The show’s real spine-tingling touch comes with its incredible puppetry element, bringing in some of the team that worked on the puppet horses for War Horse to help put elephants back in the ring.

Today the team shared a first glimpse at their pride and joy – two incredible elephant puppets – to a stunned packed of press.

Circus 1903 is brought to us by The Illusionists producers Simon Painter and Tim Lawson.

Following the world premiere season in Australia, Circus 1903 – The Golden Age of Circus transfers directly to Los Angeles and New York. Secure your tickets for its Australia tour now at Ticketmaster.com.au.
