So you love Dirty Dancing, but what exactly is 'Immersive Cinema' you say? Well, let us share with you exactly what's in store for you this March in Sydney and Melbourne.
Are you ready to become a part of Baby and Johnny’s world? Step back in time to the summer of ’63 at the Kellerman’s Mountain House in the Catskills and watch as 1985 classic Dirty Dancing comes to life around you.
What is immersive cinema?
Glad you asked! Immersive Cinema is a new and unique way of experiencing cinematic classics. The world of Dirty Dancing will unfold before you with a life-size recreation of Kellerman’s resort complete with staff and guests. After you’ve experienced everything Kellerman’s has to offer, you can grab your popcorn, sit outside, and watch the film under the stars.
What activities are there to do?
If you have a walk around and explore the Kellerman resort there’s lots to keep you entertained.
Dancing
You can take a class with the talented staff, from the Samba to the foxtrot they’ve got a style for even those with two left feet – there’s even one for the kids! If you dare, there’s a talent competition, so perhaps pencil in a few rehearsals before the night.
Sports
Break out your Polo shirts and golf shoes and play a round of golf on the Kellerman Country Club’s nine-hole golf course. Enjoy a little competitive spirit with a game of croquet or Badminton on the lawn, or round up a group for a game of the ultimate summer sport – volleyball.
Arts & Crafts
Discover a hidden talent with a painting class, perfect for the young and old. Or if you’d prefer to make something you can wear, the ladies down at the salon are hosting jewellery making classes.
Can I get a drink?
We hear ya! After a long week, you need a little refresher, and Kellerman’s has got your back. There are multiple bars onsite serving up award-winning wines and refreshing cold beers. Or, if you’d prefer something a little Summery, there are a range of fruity cocktails on offer as well.
And what about food?
Serving up traditional American fare, the diner at the main hotel will be a delicious start to the night. Or, if you’d prefer something a little different, there will be a range of vendors and caterers providing all sorts of cuisine catering to all tastes and most dietary requirements.
