Legendary producer, Michael Cassel, has taken to Twitter to confirm the cast for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

The renowned musical is set to open at the newly-refurbished Sydney Lyric this September, with Esther Hannaford already confirmed as the production’s leading lady.

The stunning musical comes to Australia following hit runs on London’s West End and Broadway, establishing itself as one of the most musically-mesmerising shows of our time.

Not sure how familiar you are with the work of Carole King? The legendary singer is responsible for hits like Will You Love Me Tomorrow, It’s Too Late, Take Good Care of My Baby, Locomotion, You’ve Got A Friend, (You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman, One Fine Day, Tapestry, You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling, On Broadway and Uptown, plus heaps more.

The musical follows Carole King’s remarkable rise from talented schoolgirl to international superstar, comprising a book by Tony® and Academy® Award-nominee Douglas McGrath, direction by Marc Bruni and choreography by Josh Prince.

Australian Producer, Michael Cassel said: “This show is simply ‘some kind of wonderful’. I am very excited to bring this sensational show to Australian shores – Carole King might be a native New Yorker but her music is loved the world over and her story is universal. Carole King wrote the soundtrack to a generation and I can’t wait for Australian audiences to experience this smash-hit production in Sydney.”
