Maria Bamford is completely original and one of our top picks for the 2019 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Anthony Jeselnik is bringing his savage style of comedy to Australia with shows at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre and The Tivoli in Brisbane. Get ready for a night of laughs and gasps in equal measure as Jeselnik takes comedy to the brink of politically incorrect and then bulldozes right past it.
Known for his epic roasts of Charlie Sheen, Roseanne Barr, and of course Donald Trump, Jeselnik is referred to as the ‘dark prince of comedy’ as he’s brutal and holds nothing back but does so with the charm of the devil himself.
He’s one of the hottest commodities in comedy right now, launching a hit Netflix special Thoughts and Prayers in 2015, hosting season 9 of Last Comic Standing and introducing his own Comedy Central series, The Jeselnik Offensive. Not to mention getting to share the stage with Chris Rock in 2017 on his Total Blackout tour.
If you’re brave enough to see him live (sit this one out if you’re easily offended) expect the evil genius one-liners that we’ve come to love from seeing him on The Last Comic Standing, Conan, The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
So if you enjoy a good roast and can handle a few jokes about dead babies check out Anthony Jeselnik Thursday 28 February at The Tivoli, Brisbane and Friday 1 March at Comedy Theatre, Melbourne. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com.au.
