Warbirds Downunder Airshow ready to launch in 2022

Warbirds Downunder, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Warbirds Airshow, will return to Temora Aviation Museum in New South Wales later this year.

The Warbirds Downunder Airshow is set to launch this October.

The two-day Airshow is jam-packed with action, both in the air and on the ground. Across the weekend you will get an unforgettable, up close and personal experience of Australian aviation history, people and aircrafts. Here’s a guide to everything you need to know.

Your guide to Warbirds Downunder

The largest working collection of Warbirds, housed at Temora, will take to the skies this October, alongside a large number of aircrafts from private collectors, coupled with the Royal Australian Air Force’s latest aviation technology.

The unique program at the Airshow will offer the best in Australian military and aviation from past, present and future.

What is on display at Warbirds Downunder 2022?

Both days are filled with a curated program of historical warbird flight. The lineup of aircrafts will be announced closer to the event, with many rare and unique former and current military aircrafts sure to amaze.

The program will offer an array of aircraft from trainers to jets. It will include the full on-site RAAF 100 Sqn collection of working warbirds housed at Temora Aviation Museum, and many more rare and unique former and current military aircraft. The Temora collection includes, the:

• Only flying Lockheed Hudson Bomber in the world.
• Two of Australia’s flying Spitfires.
• Last RAAF Fighter aircraft to see air-to-air combat during the Korean War – the only flying single seat Meteor in the world.
• World’s newest fully restored Dragonfly ground attack jet.
• Oldest airworthy Tiger Moth in Australia.
• One of only two flying Boomerangs in the world.
• The only flying Canberra Bomber in Australia.

What else is happening?

Around the Airshow will be a range of activities for young and old, keeping everyone entertained across the whole weekend.

You will, of course, be treated to fixed aircraft and military displays. You can also witness the Unsung Heroes share their stories on the speakers. There is music and entertainment, as well as a Kids Zone activities for future aviators.

Warbirds Downunder 2022 will take flight on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October at Temora Aviation Museum, NSW. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com.au.
