The Bledisloe Cup, the biggest rivalry in rugby, is heading to Perth in August 2019.

This will be the first time that Perth has held a Bledisloe Cup match, as well as only the fifth time that it has been taken outside of New Zealand, Queensland, or New South Wales. The Wallabies will be out to end a 16-year Bledisloe Cup drought when the two nations meet at Optus Stadium on Saturday 10 August 2019.

The 60,000 seat Stadium is expected to be full for the clash, with thousands of supporters predicated to purchase and travel from interstate and New Zealand. Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said of the clash, “We expect thousands of people to travel to Perth for the game. It will provide a great platform to show off the new face of Perth to the millions of rugby fans who will be tuning in to the game.”

This will also be the only time that the Wallabies and New Zealand do battle in Australia in 2019, and the first time New Zealand has played in Perth in over 25 years.

The match will play host to the women’s sides, making the night a huge doubleheader. Australia’s Wallaroos will take on New Zealand’s Black Ferns prior to the men’s in an exciting feature for fans.

Tickets will be on sale at 9am (WST) on Friday 26 October, and can be found at Ticketmaster.com.au.
