For the very first time, the NRL’s State of Origin will be heading outside of Australia’s East Coast, as one of the country’s finest sporting spectacles arrives in Western Australia.

Game two of the 2019 Rugby League State of Origin series will take place on Sunday 23 June, 2019 at Optus Stadium in Perth. The New South Wales Blues will again take on the Queensland Maroons in the traditional rivalry in the very west time the clash has ventured west, and only the tenth time it has been played outside of New South Wales or Queensland.

The clash will be played at the world-class Optus Stadium, one of the world’s greatest modern stadiums. The NSW Blues took out this year’s Origin series 2-1, winning the opening two matches at the MCG and ANZ Stadium, before Queensland found a win on home soil in the dead rubber at Suncorp Stadium. Billy Slater took out the Wally Lewis Medal for player of the series in 2018, in his final Origin series.

The bonus of Game Two being played in Perth means that all will be on the line for the clash, ruling out a dead rubber match.

Thousands of fans are expected to make the trek to Western Australia for the game.

Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday 18 July, 2018 at Ticketmaster.com.au, so make sure you snap them up quickly.
