AFL, rugby, ice hockey…it’s all happening this weekend.

Victoria

We start with a Melbourne ice hockey derby at O’Brien Icehouse on Friday night (31 May), as the Melbourne Mustangs and Melbourne Ice do battle. Puck drop is at 7.30pm, so why not come down and experience yet another part of Melbourne’s famous sporting landscape.

More Friday night action as North Melbourne face Richmond to kick off the second round of Sir Doug Nicholls Round in the AFL. After a tumultuous week, North have the chance to make it two on the bounce, with new coach Rhyce Shaw at the helm. Richmond are back in the four after recent form has seen them win their past three, setting things up for an enticing Friday night clash.

On Saturday (1 June), Geelong are back at GMHBA Stadium against Sydney, starting at 4.35pm. Hot favourites Geelong are 9-1 and sitting pretty atop the ladder, and should get the job done against a struggling Sydney outfit.

The Cats will be wearing their Quinton Narkle designed Indigenous guernsey as well – find out more about it here.

We have more AIHL action on the Saturday as well, with Melbourne Ice back in action, this time against Adelaide Adrenaline. Back at the O’Brien Icehouse, puck drop is at 5pm for this one.

Heading to Sunday (2 June), it’s the Melbourne Mustangs chance to take on the Adrenaline, starting at 2pm. Three games in three days at the Icehouse in Melbourne means there is every reason to head down and witness something different in Melbourne’s notorious sporting landscape.

Western Australia

It all starts in the west on Friday night (31 May), with the Western Force taking on Kagifa Samoa at HBF Park at 7.45pm.

Have you been down to HBF Park to see the Western Force yet this year?

Looking ahead to Sunday (2 June), the West Coast Eagles will face the Western Bulldogs. Starting at 3.20pm at Optus Stadium, can a red-hot Eagles outfit make it five wins in a row?

New South Wales

Just the one game in NSW this week, with the GWS GIANTS taking on Gold Coast at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday afternoon (1 June). The third-placed Giants are desperate to maintain a top-four position, and with positions so tight at the top, this one is essential.

Queensland

Just the one match in the country’s north this week as well, with a firing Brisbane outfit battling Hawthorn on Saturday night (1 June) at The Gabba. After outperforming expectations thus far in 2019 we had a look at the Lions run home, to see whether they are a real threat this season.
