With Football February coming to a close, the results are in to hear the fans’ opinion from our polls on the Hyundai A-League.

The season so far

It seems fans were torn between the league’s best International player this season, with Perth Glory striker Andy Keogh narrowly pipping Sydney FC’s Adam Le Fondre.

Perth Glory’s Chris Ikonomidis was the unanimous best performing Aussie so far in the 2018/19 campaign, while just as many think Perth Glory will be taking home the Championship this season.

Ikonomidis was also voted the signing of the season so far, with Le Fondre his only competition.

The history of the A-League

As we strolled back through the ages, we asked which former marquee you would most want at your club in their peak. Italian legend and former Sydney FC captain Alessandro Del Piero was your winner, with Victory’s Keisuke Honda and former Melbourne City frontman David Villa losing out.

Former Melbourne Victory striker Besart Berisha was voted as the best player in the A-League’s history, just ahead of Archie Thompson in second place. The Victory also just won out over Sydney FC as the greatest club in the league’s history.

It also appears that fans consider Aaron Mooy to be the current Socceroo who’s had the greatest impact in the A-League, getting the nod over goalkeeper Danny Vukovic.

The hard questions

In other news, Melbourne Victory is the team fans most love to hate, while Keisuke Honda is the current marquee that fans would most want wearing their team’s colours.

Mathew Leckie was voted as the Asian Cup hero that fans would most love to see back in the A-League, just knocking off our star keeper Mat Ryan.

It also seems fans couldn’t decide who the league’s most underrated player is, with Adelaide’s Isaias, Victory’s Terry Antonis, Phoenix’s Sarpreet Singh, and Perth’s Andy Keogh all receiving the same number of votes.
