This weekend's sport has plenty of action in the AFL and NRL, as well as some ice hockey, netball and soccer.
Ice hockey may not always be synonymous with Australian sport, but there is some seriously good action on display in the AIHL this weekend in Melbourne. Why not try out something different this weekend and head along to the O’Brien Group Arena in the Docklands to see the Melbourne Mustangs or Melbourne Ice do battle? The school holidays are starting as well, so what better way to give the kids something new to do, and keep them entertained in this chilly weather?
The Sydney Bears are in town, so there will be three games played across the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so no matter your schedule, there’ll be a clash to suit.
First up sees the Melbourne derby, as the Melbourne Mustangs take on Melbourne Ice on Friday (29 June) night at 7:30pm.
Melbourne Ice will then need to back it up against the Sydney Bears on Saturday (30 June), with a 5pm puck drop, again at the O’Brien Group Arena.
If Sunday is more your go, the Melbourne Mustangs will again be in action, this time up against the Sydney Bears for their second game of the weekend, with a 4pm puck drop.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the school holidays, the Melbourne Mustangs will again play the week after at O’Brien Group Arena. They will take on the top of the table CBR Brave, travelling down from Canberra. There will be two clashes between the two sides on Saturday 7 July at 5pm, and Sunday 8 July at 4pm.
So make sure you come on down to check out the ice hockey these school holidays, starting with the local derby this Friday, and you can even pick your team!
Tickets to all the action at O’Brien Group Arena this AIHL season will be available at Tickmaster.com.au.
