As we get set to host the world’s best with the USA Basketball side arriving in August; Andrew Bogut, Liz Cambage and Lauren Jackson spoke to the media at the unveiling of a giant Boomers mural at Marvel Stadium.

The Boomers will take on the USA in preparation for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China, with two matches to be held at Marvel Stadium – Thursday 22 and Saturday 24 August. The Saturday afternoon clash (August 24) has already sold out, with limited tickets available for the Thursday (August 22). It is set to be the biggest crowds seen in Australian basketball, with the Stadium sure to be packed to capacity.

Marvel Stadium today unveiled a giant mural celebrating the direction Australian basketball is heading, fielding arguably our strongest ever sides in both the men’s and women’s National sides. The mural, featuring NBA star Ben Simmons, NBL 2019 MVP Andrew Bogut, legend Andrew Gaze and women’s stars Liz Cambage and Lauren Jackson, is situated outside Gate 7 at Marvel Stadium. It is accompanied by a 3-on-3 court in front of it, open and available for public use.

Addressing the media, Bogut spoke about the excitement he feels with the position Australian basketball is currently in. He says this is “our most talented team,” and with so many stars plying their trade in the NBA currently, it is difficult to disagree.

Bogut has confirmed he will be fronting up against the USA in August, with several other big-name players likely to join him.
