The AFL’s pre-season competition starts tomorrow, with games being played all around the country. Running from Saturday 24 February through to Sunday 11 March, each one of the competition’s 18 sides will play two matches across the three-week competition, in the lead up to the 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The competition is once again looking to give back to communities across Australia, taking matches to every corner of the country, including several regional grounds.

This is the perfect opportunity for the clubs to gain valuable match practice before Round 1 begins on 22 March. For fans, it is a chance to once again witness your favourite players in action, whilst getting a look at your side’s new recruits on the full-sized ground for the first time. It also provides the chance for clubs and fans alike to witness the new draftees on show in a competitive environment, as they stake their round 1 selection claims.

Ticketmaster will be selling tickets to games across the nation, beginning with West Coast v Port Adelaide at Leederville Oval this Sunday.

Teams for the first week of the competition have been announced as well, with Port Adelaide unveiling a host of their new recruits, including Jack Watts and Steven Motlop. Whilst Brendon Ah Chee will make his debut for the West Coast Eagles against his old side, Port Adelaide.

In terms of any new rules coming across the JLT Community Series this year, the ever-divisive 9 point Super Goal has been scrapped, as rules become more consistent with the regular season.

Squads will be afforded the opportunity to select up to 26 players, with no cap on interchange limits. Each quarter will run for 20 minutes much the same as the home and away season. Yet, for each club’s first match, there will be no time on added in the first 15 minutes of each quarter.

To witness your side in action, grab your tickets at Ticketmaster now.
