With Geelong Cats sitting at second with 12 wins, this Friday’s match against sixth-place Sydney Swans promises to be one to watch.

The Swans, who’re close behind with 10 wins, will be dusting themselves off after a defeat by Hawthorn last week.

Still, the Cats may have something to prove after their last meeting with the Swans – a seven-goal-to-none result in 2016’s preliminary final.

While the Swans have a decent recent record against the Cats, the official AFL preview warns, ‘they’ll have to be on their toes’ at Simonds Stadium on Friday. Adding, “The Cats have won seven straight at their home ground, although their last loss there was incidentally to the Swans in round 16 last year.”

There’s still time to secure your tickets for Friday’s game here.

Geelong Cats v Sydney Swans kicks off at 7:50pm (local time) at Simonds Stadium on Friday 4 August.
