During all AFL matches at Etihad Stadium this August, kids under the age of 16 can grab themselves a free hot chocolate.

As we enter the final month of a chilly Melbourne winter, a nice hot chocolate at the footy goes down an absolute treat.

The free hot chocolate will be available at aisles 19 and 43 on Level 1 and 3, and aisles 19 and 44 on Level 2.

As for the action on the pitch…

The home and away season draws to a close this month, with plenty still up for grabs, and many sides still in the running to nab a top eight position. Check out all of this month’s footy below.

Round 20

This weekend at Etihad starts with St Kilda up against the Western Bulldogs in a primetime Saturday night (4 August) fixture, starting at 7:25pm. Both sides will be looking for a strong finish to 2018, ready to take some form and push for finals again in 2019.

Carlton are on a high after their performance on the Gold Coast last week and will be looking to back it up against the GWS GIANTS this Sunday afternoon (5 August), starting at 1:10pm. The GIANTS are in a rich vein of form and have climbed back up to fifth on the ladder and will be keen to cement a top four position. Yet, Blues fans will remember the last time these two sides met last year, as the Blues claimed an amazing surprise 1-point victory.

Round 21

Round 21 kicks off with Essendon up against St Kilda in Friday night footy action (10 August), starting at 7:50pm. The Bombers are soaring up the ladder and will need to knock off the Saints to retain any finals hopes.

Collingwood will then face the Brisbane Lions in Saturday night footy (11 August) with a 7:25pm bounce. The Pies have surprised many this season and are currently sitting in third spot despite a host of injuries. The Lions have been competitive in nearly every game this year and have surprised many with a few big scalps, shaping this one as an enticing clash.

North Melbourne will then face the Western Bulldogs on Sunday 1:10pm (12 August), with their top eight hopes still well and truly alive. With likely Coleman Medalist Ben Brown, and potential Brownlow contender Shaun Higgins in superb form, the Kangaroos have become a revelation and delight to watch for fans this season.

Round 22

The Saints return to Etihad for the third week running as they take on Hawthorn on Saturday night at 7:25pm (18 August). The Hawks will be raring to go to maintain their finals chances in what shapes up as huge clash.

Sunday (19 August) sees Carlton taking on the Western Bulldogs in both sides second last clash of the year.

Round 23

Carlton then return to Etihad Stadium in their final game of the 2018 season against Adelaide. The Blues will be sure to fight for a good result to end what has been a disappointing season in style, holding them in good stead for 2019. The Crows may very well still be in finals contention in Round 23, meaning this could very well be a must-win clash for the Crows.

The final AFL game at Etihad Stadium, before it becomes Marvel Stadium in September, will see St Kilda take on North Melbourne in the Saints final outing for 2018. North could certainly still be finals bound, meaning this could also be a crucial fixture for them.
