The 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship starts in Melbourne, with the inaugural season launch event just announced.
The Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix™ marks the beginning of the 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship as the first race of the season.
To open the season in style, this year will see the inaugural season launch event prior to the race on Wednesday 13 March.
Hosted by Formula 1, the launch will see Federation Square transformed into a free Formula 1® spectacular, ahead of the main event at Albert Park from Thursday 14 until Sunday 17 March. All 20 drivers and ten Team Principals, as well as several legends of the sport, will attend the live stage show.
This marks the first time in the sport’s history that the heroes of Formula 1® will join the public in such an event.
Fans will have the chance to engage with teams and drivers as they take part in the live stage show. The drivers will also walk through Federation Square, recreating the symbolic Melbourne Walk.
Local music acts will support the event, sure to create an amazing atmosphere as we lead into the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019 the following day.
This launch is being talked about as the biggest celebration of the sport in Melbourne outside the four-day event at Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit. Get all the info you need right here.
Don’t forget, the launch at Federation Square on Wednesday 13 March is free.
