The Brisbane Lions kick off their 2018 home campaign this week, taking on Melbourne at the Gabba.

The Lions will be looking to bounce back from a four-goal loss to the Saints last Saturday. Despite the loss, there were plenty of positives for Brisbane to take away, with youngster Nick Robertson starring with 27 touches, 6 tackles and 5 clearances. Veteran recruit Luke Hodge impressed also, gathering 25 disposals across half-back.

They will also be ruing the loss of Daniel Rich, who went down in the second quarter with an ankle injury and looks set for a fair stint on the sidelines.

Melbourne will also be looking to regain some form against the Lions, after falling to Geelong by 3 points after failing to convert chances in front of goal.

The game will begin at 6:25pm at the Gabba this Saturday, March 31.

Make sure you head on down early to get involved in The Block Party, which will be pumping only 50m walk from the stadium at the Jurgen Street Park. The Block Party is a new premium bar and food truck precinct, with live music and entertainment getting everyone fired up for the game.
You will be spoilt for choice as Mr Burger, Cheese Lane, Rolls Pho Mi, Twisted Ice Cream, Mac From Way Back and local favourites Salt Meats Cheese all pop-up to satisfy your hunger.

This will be the first of 11 home matches at The Gabba for the Lions this season as they look for their young list to begin their rise up the ladder.
