Australia face the Dutch in April’s Fed Cup Play-Off

Australia will take on the Netherlands in the World Group Play-Off of the Fed Cup over the weekend of 21-22 April.

The countdown to Australia’s Fed Cup Play-Off is on, with the national team set to face the Netherlands in the World Group Play-Off on 21 and 22 April.

The Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Play-Off will be played at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong, NSW across the weekend. Round 1 and 2 will be played on Saturday 21 April, finishing with rounds 3, 4 and 5 on Sunday 22 April.

Day 1 begins at 11:45am on Saturday April 21, whilst day 2 will begin at 12:00pm on Sunday April 22.

With the Fed Cup regarded as the most important tournament between national teams in women’s tennis, Alicia Molik’s Aussie side are looking to qualify for the World Group for the first time in three years.

This will be the 11th time that Australia and the Netherlands have come up against each other, with the Netherlands winning the previous outing 4 – 1 at the same stage of the competition in 2015.

Overall though, Australia takes the chocolates over the Dutch, with eight wins and just two losses.
