120 of the world’s best tennis players are ready to go head-to-head when the Adelaide International kicks off.

The combined ATP and WTA tournament puts $2 million in prizemoney up for grabs.

Several big-name stars have been locked away to play already, including our top men’s and women’s Aussies, Ash Barty (world no. 1) and Alex De Minaur (world no. 18).

Former no.1 Simona Halep will also compete, as will current no. 21, 19-year-old Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The event marks the first occasion Adelaide has hosted a WTA tournament, with a brand-new redevelopment taking place at the Tennis Centre.

The first day of the tournament, Sunday 12 January, is Kids Day, which sees children get in free with a paying adult, who themselves only have to pay $10*.

Both day or twilight sessions, plus night sessions are available across the six days.

After a breakout 2019 season, De Minaur spoke about his eagerness to play in Adelaide. “2019 has been an exciting year so I am hoping to continue this form in the lead up to the 2020 Australian Open.

“I have heard a lot about the redevelopment happening at Memorial Drive. It is going to be really special to be a part of the first tournament held under the roof and I think we will see lots of Aussie fans coming to support this new event,” De Minaur says.

The Adelaide International will be held from Sunday 12 to Saturday 18 January at Memorial Drive Tennis Centre. Tickets are available now from Ticketmaster.com.au.
