We’re back. The Hyundai A-League is finally ready to return this weekend

Can Perth Glory go one better this season? Or will Sydney FC go back to back?

Will the ever-present Melbourne Victory give it another shake after the addition of two Socceroo attackers in the off-season? Or will their brand-new crosstown rivals Western United send a shock through the competition in their first season?

Our favourite match of the weekend is certainly the Melbourne Derby. Victory will face Melbourne City at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night at 7.30pm, with new captain Ola Toivonen ready to lead his side out for the first time.

With new manager Marco Kurz also on board, it is somewhat of a new-look Melbourne Victory, without Kevin Muscat involved in some capacity for the first time in the club’s history.

Star striker Andrew Nabbout will be hungry for goals in his A-League return, but Melbourne City will be difficult to stop with a brilliant record against Victory at Marvel Stadium recently.

On Sunday, a star-studded Perth Glory will host a new-look Brisbane Roar outfit at HBF Park at 3pm.

All eyes will be on new number 9 Bruno Fornaroli. After a tumultuous end to his campaign at Melbourne City, he will finally be able to resume his phenomenal A-League goalscoring form.

The era of Robbie Fowler begins for Brisbane Roar with the record-breaking Premier League striker taking the reigns in Brisbane this season.
