Excitement for the 2016  Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix is revving up with the opening race of the season just around the corner.

The on track action is definitely the highlight of any Formula 1® Grand Prix, but attendees at the Australian Grand Prix are treated with loads of off-track action, on top of the racing. Car lovers and motoring enthusiasts will be in their element, but the event is also ideal for families and children, as well as event goers who just love to get out and about and enjoy fine food and beverages! Entertainment from a vast number of music artists, street artists and many more will ensure everyone’s off track entertainment needs will be catered for.

To celebrate the diverse range of entertainment and activities at the 2016 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, we have compiled a list of the 10 things you do not want to miss when the event races into town.

1 The Race – and hometown hero Daniel Ricciardo

Of course, the race is what everyone is there to see. The four day event culminates on Sunday March 20 with the world’s best motor racing heroes providing 58 laps of exhilaration and excitement. All eyes will be on the local boy, Daniel Ricciardo, as the Red Bull Racing driver seeks a place on the podium. The local Australian crowd has high hopes for Ricciardo, who finished 6th at the 2015 race, with Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Felipe Massa taking podium spots. If Ricciardo can win the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, he would become the first Australian to win his home GP at the Albert Park race track; a feat every Aussie is hoping for!

2 Melbourne Walk

Melbourne Walk allows all attendees the chance to get up close to their motor racing heroes. The Melbourne Walk located in the F1 Fan Zone gives attendees a chance to meet the rockstars of Formula One racing as they walk to the paddock every day.  Star spotters and autograph hunters will love this!

3 Food, Music and Street Art

Celebrate all that is great about Melbourne; amazing food, great live music and unique street art. Enjoy music from the best Melbourne DJs, take in the street art displays and enjoy the tasty delights from the many food trucks on offer. This is the perfect pit stop when you need to relax and refuel. Located within the Action Zone.

4 Wi-Fi Zones

F1 fans will be better connected than ever before, with various free Wi-Fi zones throughout the race track. So keep up to date with event schedules on grandprix.com.au and upload pictures on Instagram tagging @ausgp for all your mates to see.

5 F1 Central

F1 Central is the place to be! All ticket holders can access this area, which features live music, entertainment, great food and the James Boag’s Premium Beer Garden. The area also features a superscreen so you won’t miss a minute of the on-track action while you’re enjoying a break. F1 Central also plays host to the DeWalt Guaranteed Tough Zone and Reanult Zone. This is a must-see stop when attending the Australian GP.

6 Kids Corner

The littlest Formula One fans have not been forgotten! The whole family will have an unforgettable experience in the kid’s corner with all new immersive interactive zones that include exciting activities for kids of any age.  Kids will love the displays and activities at the Kids Corner, which include activations from Porsche and Disney Pixar’s Cars.

7 Fan Forums

Do you have a question for an F1 superstar or motor racing legend? Well now is your chance to ask them at one of the many Fan Forums held over the four days.

8 Social Hub

If you want the ultimate digital experience onsite visit the ‘Social Hub’ in the F1 Fan Zone. Have your photo taken in the official #AusGP driver suit and feature on the front of a magazine like a rockstar! There will be a number of exclusive behind the scenes experiences being given away to all of those who get involved!

9 Automotive Avenue  

Lovers of cars will be in seventh heaven at the Australian Grand Prix with a huge number of car clubs exhibiting rare and classic automobiles. Clubs from all over Australia take part in car displays that features just about every car make and model imaginable. On the track, enthusiasts will have the chance to watch the Shannons historic demonstration, stunt shows, Porsche Carrera Cup and the V8 Supercars Challenge.

10 FMX

Freestyle Motocross (FMX) is one of the most exhilarating forms of motorcycle entertainment and it is coming to the 2016 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix. You can see the high-octane event across all four days of the GP, with the riders competing three times daily. FMX is an incredible mix of skill, speed and height and the riders will entertain the crowds with amazing aerial tricks and stunts. This will be one of the highlights of the GP!
