Willaris.K proves he’s worth the hype at Melbourne gig

'Willaris.K blends melody and ambiance, with texture and surprise.'

Relative newcomer to the electro scene, Willaris.K, packed out the Northcote Social Club in the last of six sold out shows across the east coast.

At 24-years-old, beat-maker Jack McAllister has caught the attention of Pete Tong of BBC Radio 1 and made it onto the Triple J Unearthed Ones to Watch 2018 list. We also named him on of our Ones To Watch 2018 earlier this year! And it’s not hard to see why. Willaris.K blends melody and ambiance, with texture and surprise. The listener is on a journey, and Willaris.K is the puppet master.

The stage is set up with a number of pedestal and floor lights which flash and travel with, at times, intensity. The tracks hit fever pitch when light and sound are expertly combined to create a complete immersive experience.

Willaris.K knows how to throw a killer party, and the crowd are completely into it. A cold Melbourne night didn’t even deter one punter from taking to his mate’s shoulders to do a shoey… twice. The jury’s out as it whether he switched shoes for the second go.

Listen to Dour Nights right now, you won’t regret it.
