With vocals as smooth as honey and flow well beyond her years, Melbourne future soul and R&B queen Kaiit has taken the music scene by storm in a very short amount of time. Born in Papua New Guinea, she bounced back and forth between Australia and her homeland as a child, before her family eventually settled in Australia. While she grew up on a healthy musical diet of alternative rock, she developed a love for jazz and neo-soul, finding influence in artists like Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, and SZA.
After slowly building a reputation through live performances around Melbourne, she made one heck of an announcement on the scene through powerhouse single Natural Woman. Seamlessly bouncing between fire rap bars and an unforgettable hook, Kaiit well and truly had the industry’s attention.
The accolades keep rolling in. Very early on she was named as one of the best rappers under 25 by Red Bull Music, was nominated in the Apple Music Best of 2018 list, and took home the Archie Roach Foundation Award for Emerging Talent at The Music Victoria Awards 2018
So far she’s shared the stage with the likes of The Internet, Joey Bada$$, Chance The Rapper, and Sampa The Great, sold out her first national tour, played some of the country’s biggest festivals including a much talked about sets at Strawberry Fields and Golden Plains, and will head to Europe later this year. Following on from a breakout 2018, it really looks like the sky is the limit for Kaiit in 2019, so it’s time to get on her team.
Released last September, Kaiit’s Live From Her Room EP takes listeners into her corner of the world – honest and intimate songwriting, layered in neo-soul groove and vintage hip hop flow, she caught the world’s attention. From songs about practising self-love to encouraging independence and cutting out toxic people, Kaiit’s catalogue, while still growing, is chock full of anthems and already she is proving herself to be an incredible role model.

The single that kicked things off for Kaiit. The upbeat, soulful track explores the feeling of finding comfort in your own skin and knowing that you don’t need to change for anyone else.
Kaiit – OG Luv Kush Pt. 2
Following on from OG Luv Kush –which focuses on the ups and downs of relationships and the ‘addiction’ to love – Pt.2 comes full circle, because despite everything that happens you always come back together, but if the same things keep happening sometimes it’s better if you love them from afar.
Kaiit – Duffman
This one is Kaiit’s personal favourite, it’s about finding her place and confidence within herself. After struggling with her identity for a long time, this track is about loving yourself for who you are.
