If you are looking for great ideas to entertain the kids during the school holidays, look no further! Ticketmaster has compiled a list of fun, family-friendly events that will keep Mum, Dad and the kids happy.

Snow White – Winter Family Musical
State Theatre

Mirror, mirror on the wall… how will I entertain the kids during the school holidays? The State Theatre in Sydney is hosting performances of Snow White – Winter Family Musical during the upcoming school holidays. The musical is an updated look at the classic fairy tale and will be performed in interactive pantomime style with lots of singing and humour. The event has a star-studded cast with Magda Szubanski as The Wicked Queen, Peter Everett as Chambers and Jimmy Rees as Muddles. Sir Cliff Richard and Kyle Sandilands will also feature via specially recorded video performances. Snow White will be showing at the State Theatre from July 4-13.

The Lion King
Capitol Theatre
Now until August 31 – Various Times

If your kids are fans of the classic Disney film, The Lion King, you won’t want to miss the musical version during these school holidays. The Lion King, which is playing at the Capitol Theatre, will captivate your kids with its colour, puppetry and classic songs. Set in the Serengeti Plains, The Lion King tells the story of lion cub Simba who embarks on an epic journey to become King of the Pridelands. The Lion King has family friendly matinee sessions on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!
Big Top Luna Park
June 28 – 10am, 1pm and 4pm and June 29 – 10am

The whole Yo Gabba Gabba gang is coming to the Big Top Luna Park during these school holidays. DJ Lance Rock will join all the favourites including Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Toodee, and Plex for an all singing, all dancing event that will have your kids completely entertained. The group will be performing all the classics including ‘I Like to Dance’ and ‘Party in my Tummy’ as well as new songs. The show promises to be a spectacular event complete with special guests and loads of surprises.

NRL: Manly Sea Eagles v Wests Tigers
Brookvale Oval
Friday July 11 – 7.40pm

Can the Manly Sea Eagles continue their winning ways against the Wests Tigers at Brookvale Oval? Both sides have plenty to play for; the Tigers are knocking on the door of the eight while the Sea Eagles are hoping to secure a home final with a top two finish. The sides will play their Round 18 match on Friday July 11 at 7.40pm. The Manly Sea Eagles will also play home matches against the Brisbane Broncos and Penrith Panthers at Brookvale Oval in 2014.

Mr McGee & the Biting Flea
Seymour Centre – Everest Theatre
July 8-12 – 10.30am and 1.30pm daily

This event is one not to be missed! The Seymour Centre is showing performances of Mr McGee & the Biting Flea during the school holidays. Six amazing stories by childrens author Pamela Allen are presented in this funny and frenetic production including Mr McGee, Alexander’s Outing, Belinda, Brown Bread and Honey and Mary Elizabeth’s House as well as Mr McGee & the Biting Flea. Each of the stories comes alive on stage from crates and suitcases that curious workers find in a storeroom. The multi-award winning production will be shown at 10.30am and 1.30pm daily from July 8-12.

The Gruffalo
Seymour Centre – Everest Theatre
June 25 to July 5 – Various Times

The Gruffalo is coming to the Everest Theatre at the Seymour Centre during the school holidays. The production is a musical adaptation of much-loved childrens book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The Gruffalo tells the tale of Mouse, who journeys through the woods avoiding hungry animals with her tales of the terrifying monster, the Gruffalo. But what will she do when she comes face-to-face with the very creature she imagined? The Gruffalo is playing at the Seymour Centre between June 25 and July 5.

NRL: Parramatta Eels v Newcastle Knights
Pirtek Stadium
Sunday June 29 – 3pm

Join the Blue and Gold army at Pirtek Stadium as the Parramatta Eels take on the Newcastle Knights on Sunday June 29 at 3pm. The Eels currently sit eighth on the ladder and go into this match as favourites against the lowly-placed Knights. The club is full of League stars such as co-captains Jarryd Hayne and Tim Mannah as well as Will Hopoate. The Eels still have two home matches at Pirtek Stadium in 2014 including games against the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Manly Sea Eagles.

Horrible Histories Live on Stage – Barmy Britain
Sydney Opera House – Concert Hall
July 2-6 – Various Times

If you are the parent of a little history buff, don’t miss Horrible Histories Live on Stage during these school holidays. The crew will be presenting Barmy Britain at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall between July 2 and 6 and they will bring to life many of the most-famous British historical figures including Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth, Richard the Lionheart, Queen Victoria and Guy Fawkes. The show features new 3D effects that are sure to impress your kids. Horrible Histories will be performing daily (July 3-6) at 11am and 2pm with a special 6pm show on July 2.

Strictly Ballroom

Dance your way to the dazzling production of Strictly Ballroom the Musical during these school holidays. Playing at the Sydney Lyric, this all dancing, all singing musical will have your kids entertained with eye-catching costumes, elaborate sets and catchy music. Based on the 1992 Baz Luhrmann film of the same name, Strictly Ballroom is full of glitz, humour, romance and of course sequins! The musical features classic songs from the film including John Paul Young’s Love is in the Air and Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time. Strictly Ballroom has matinee sessions on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays and group discounts apply for bookings of 20+.

AFL: GWS Giants v Adelaide Crows
Spotless Stadium
Saturday July 5 – 2.10pm

Be there to see the GWS Giants take on the Adelaide Crows on July 5. The traditional Saturday afternoon timeslot is perfect for families and the Giants are coming off an inspiring win against Carlton as well as victory against the Brisbane Lions. The Giants will also play home matches at Spotless Stadium against Geelong on Saturday July 19 and Collingwood on Saturday August 23.
