‘Ticket of the Year’: it’s up to you

Across the globe voting in Ticketmaster’s ‘Ticket of the Year’ is underway, and it’s time for you to have your say – what was the best Aussie event you went to in the last 12 months?

2018 was a year jampacked with entertainment – from world-class music performances to theatre that made us laugh and cry, and sporting events that had us on the edge of our seats. It’s hard to sum it all up.

Now it’s time to sift through your memory bank and select your ‘Ticket of the Year’ – that’s right we want to know the very best event you saw this year. The much-anticipated vote will take place on Ticketmaster Australia’s official website from Monday 5 November until Sunday 11 November.

All live music, theatre productions, sporting events, festivals, and shows that took place throughout 2018 are in the running. As well as looking back on the last 12 months, ‘Ticket of the Year’ will also find out what your most anticipated event of 2019 is. The results will be announced on Tuesday 27 November.

In 2017, The Book of Mormon took out the top prize, closely followed by Adele’s Brisbane concert and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at Sydney Lyric. Adele in Melbourne and Sydney, Stevie Nicks in Adelaide and Aladdin – The Musical in both Sydney and Melbourne all also featured in the top ten.

Looking ahead to this year, you chose Ed Sheeran, The Book of Mormon, Mamma Mia!, Aladdin – The Musical, and Foo Fighters as your most anticipated events of 2018.

Prizes up for grabs

To say thank you for voting, and to prepare for 2019, you could score yourself a $500 Ticketmaster gift card. Everyone who submits a vote for ‘Ticket of the Year’ will go into the running – all you have to do is tell us what your favourite live event of 2018 was. It’s that simple.
