It is finally official. After months of speculation, it has been confirmed Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will tour Australia in February 2017.
Bruce Springsteen has earned a reputation as one of the greatest touring acts going around, which has people very excited at the prospect of seeing him live at Hanging Rock Reserve, VIC on February 11 and Hope Estate, NSW on February 18. Click here for more information regarding tickets.
And to make things even more exciting, it has also been confirmed that Australian rock band Jet is re-forming to support Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on tour. In addition, Diesel will also take the stage for the performances at Hanging Rock and the Hunter Valley.
For most people, Bruce Springsteen burst onto the scene in the mid-1970s, but ‘The Boss’ had actually been performing since the mid-1960s. In 1972, Bruce Springsteen signed a record deal and formed the E Street Band. The rest, as they say, is history.
From that point, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band released hit after hit, becoming one of the most successful acts in the world.
Bruce Springsteen is a powerhouse of the music world. The Boss has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide and has won 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Oscar. He has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1999) along with the E Street Band, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band covered the song War in 1985 and it became a well-known part of the group’s live repertoire. The song charted well, particularly in the USA where it peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Secret Garden was originally released in 1995 on Bruce Springsteen’s Greatest Hits album, but it gained greater traction upon its 1997 re-release following the track’s appearance in the Tom Cruise film Jerry Maguire.
Released as the first single off the 19880 album The River, Hungry Heart became Bruce Springsteen’s first big hit as a performing artist. He had previously written hits for other artists, but Hungry Heart was a song that helped to put Bruce Springsteen on the map.
Glory Days was the fifth single off the hugely successful Born in the USA album, which was released in 1984. The song was a chart success and it is played after every New Jersey Devils home win.

One of The Boss’ biggest hits came in 1994 when Bruce Springsteen released Streets of Philadelphia for the 1993 film Philadelphia. The song was a hit all over the world and also won the 1993 Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Born to Run
Interestingly, when Born to Run was released in 1975, it was not a massive chart success, yet it is considered one of Bruce Springsteen’s most important and influential hits.
Born in the USA
Born in the USA is one of Bruce Springsteen’s most successful and popular albums and the song of the same name is one of his quintessential hits. The song was a hit all over the world and topped the charts in Ireland and New Zealand.
I’m on Fire
I’m on Fire was written and recorded in 1982, but it was not released until 1985 as part of the Born in the USA album. The song was the fourth top 10 USA hit off Born in the USA, helping The Boss to release a record-equalling seven top 10 US hits from the album.
Dancing in the Dark
Dancing in the Dark is without a doubt the quintessential Bruce Springsteen hit. The track was the lead single off the 1984 album Born in the USA and it spent many weeks at the top of the USA Billboard Hot 100 charts. The song is also known for its music video, which features a then unknown Courteney Cox dancing on stage with Bruce Springsteen.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at Hanging Rock Reserve, VIC on February 11 and Hope Estate, NSW on February 18.
