Queensland Country Bank Stadium will host its first rugby league clash in Round 1 of the 2020 NRL season.
Sandstone Rocks you have well and truly done it. Assemble your mates and get to Queensland next March.
Leading the way is none other than 2007 ARIA Hall of Famers Hoodoo Gurus. Thanks to a string of huge pop-rock singles like their debut single ‘Leilani’ and ‘My Girl’, they’ve well and truly cemented their status as Aus-rock icons. By any measure, Hoodoo Gurus are one of our greatest, best-loved, and most-enduring rock bands of all time. They’ve remained a relentless touring force, and even now, after nearly four decades, their live show is still unforgettable.
Thought that was huge? Well, it gets bigger. Co-headlining the bill is American folk-punks Violent Femmes. It was their self-titled debut album back in 1983 that shot the band to international attention, with singles like ‘Blister In The Sun’ and ‘Add It Up’ that have had such an everlasting reach they have been loved by every generation of music fan since. Now, heading into 2020, they’re hitting the road to celebrate the release of their tenth studio Hotel Last Resort – a record that captures all the moments that made us fall in love with the Violent Femmes four decades ago.
The singalongs don’t stop there though. You’re also sure to get a ‘Black Fingernails Red Wine’/’From The Sea’/’Sarah’ trio because Eskimo Joe will be in attendance. As will Adelaide rockers The Superjesus and Aussie punks 28 Days.
They’ll all be coming together in the gorgeous surrounds of Sandstone Point Hotel – so the views are just as good as the onstage action.
Sandstone Rocks 2020 will come to Sandstone Point Hotel, Queensland on Saturday 21 March. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com.au.
