Piknic Electronik unveil huge 2018/19 season
Open-air summer sessions have never looked this good.
If dancing to DJs in the sunshine sounds like the perfect way to spend your summer, then you’re in luck because Piknic Electronik have just dropped their 2018/2019 season – and it is huge.
Returning for their fifth Melbourne season, the globetrotting festival – that’s had bodies moving in cities including Barcelona, Lisbon, Santiago, and Dubai – will host 12 spicy events in the lush surrounds of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl from November until February.
Kicking things off will be lo-fi house kingpin Mall Grab alongside his Love Is Real / Sweetness Steel City Dance Discs collaborator Loods. Other artists featured throughout the series include Revolver Sundays resident Boogs, purveyor of all things funk Harvey Sutherland, Swedish DJ and producer Jeremy Olander, London’s Moxie, and Copenhagen’s Denis Horvat. To get you even more excited, there are still a stack more artists to be announced including a slew of secret international guests.
Falling in the middle of the program will be the debut of the newest New Year’s Day event, The First, featuring the likes of Action Bronson, The Presets, and MIA.
With the aim to make electronic music accessible to all punters, the event brings together delicious food and drink, chill out zones, and a heaving dancefloor for the ultimate summer party. If you thought the musical offering was tops, wait until you check out the food truck lineup. Keeping you fuelled through all the dancing is the likes of Biggie Smalls,El Chivi, Meat Me Here, Poke Time, Royal Stacks, Vegelicious, and more.
