True to form, Yours & Owls will flood its stages with the finest in fresh Aussie talent.

We suggest you start your planning your days pronto because there’s heaps of must-see acts on this year’s bill. Seriously, so many.

As for our top picks? Well we’re glad you asked…

Alex The Astronaut

When she’s not smashing her soccer scholarship, Sydney songwriter, Alex The Astronaut, makes a habit of turning life’s funniest and most heartfelt moments into smart and seriously thought-provoking tracks.

Clews

Sydney-based sisters, Lily and Grace Richardson, aka Clews, have got indie rock fans real excited. With a love of anthemic ‘90s ballads, the duo are all about big choruses and heart-wrenching storytelling.

Dear Seattle

Beers up high for this lot! Emerging from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Dear Seattle bring big grooves, a hearty, punk rock spirit and grab-the-air melodies.

Hellions

In the process of smoothing out their harsher, hardcore edges, Sydney’s Hellions have staked claim on their own brand of punk rock. Expect to have a lot of fun watching them live.

Jess Locke

Whether you’re a fan of melancholic folk or heart-on-your-sleeve acoustic jams, Avoca Beach native, Jess Locke, has enough passion and natural talent to give the whole festival goosebumps.

Luca Brasi

Tassie legends, Luca Brasi, are back with a brand-new record in 2018’s Stay (set for release on 22 June) and if recent singles Let It Slip and The In Between are anything to go by, the foursome are at the top of their game.

Mallrat

Brissy breakout star, Mallrat, brings a much-needed dose of electropop beats to proceedings. *As if* we need to tell you why this Aussie artist is a must see?

Mere Women

This Sydney four-piece produce post-punk which is emotional and electrifying in equal parts. Easily one of Poison City Records’ most exciting offerings right now (which is really saying something!), Mere Women have all the haunting-yet-fiercely-interesting elements needed to stand out on a live stage.

Moaning Lisa

Fuzzy alt rock with all the attitude of the ‘90s grunge era; Moaning Lisa are giving Canberra a whole new rep. Pay attention to their lyrics, you might just learn something.

Polaris

It feels like this metalcore mob are really hitting their stride. Fresh from touring with heroes, Parkway Drive, and still riding high off the release of their 2017 EP, The Mortal Coil, Sydney’s heavy hitters, Polaris, may just pack the biggest punch of the festival.

Press Club

Fresh from touring the nation with The Smith Street Band and Bec Sandridge, Melbourne’s Press Club are the band everyone’s telling you to see live. Well, they have a point.

Listener

Curveball. Kansas City’s Listener are one of the bands that stick out the most when you properly inspect the Yours & Owls lineup. It’s for all the best reasons, mind you, as Listener’s unique spoken word makes them one of the most punk offerings you didn’t know you needed in life, let alone this festival.

TicketWeb Ones To Watch picks Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Pist Idiots and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever will also appear at the spring festival. Alongside even more – just LOOK at this poster.
