Brisbane throwback to The Outpost with new venue

The venue news keeps on coming for Brisbane music fans, with newbie The Outpost launching this August.

Brisbane’s newest venue, The Outpost has today announced its launch event and first run of gigs.

With Fortitude Music Hall’s official opening just a little over two weeks away, the good news for Brisbane live music fans keeps rolling in.

Within the walls of the venue, will be a second venue – that’s right, it’s a two-for-one new music venue deal.

The 300-capacity multipurpose venue, The Outpost, will feature a diverse program of artists, an impressive drinks menu featuring a cocktail list curated by the talented team at Proof & Company, and a 3am licence.

Paying homage to the Brisbane dive bar of the same name, The Outpost is a celebration of Brisbane’s rich musical history from the late ’70s post-punk era.

Venue director John Collins has fond memories from the original Outpost. “My first ever gig was at The Outpost. I was 16 and was hyper-aware to a new world opening up to me.

“However, this Outpost is no dive bar. The team have created a stunning space that equally accommodates after-work cocktails, pre-dinner drinks, and will nurture artists, offering them a springboard onto the Fortitude stage in tours to come. We hope it will have the same impact on patrons as its namesake had on me.”

While Fortitude Music Hall will host events with a capacity of up to 3,000, The Outpost will be its more intimate little sister – giving fans the best of both worlds within the same four walls.

Get your diaries out and clear your calendars, because some of our favourite up and coming artists are locked in for Outpost shows across August.

Sunshine and summertime vibes are on the cards for the venue’s launch party, with Major Leagues joined by Greta Stanley, Married Man, and Colts to kick things off on Thursday 1 August.
