Max & Iggor Cavalera, the founders of Brazilian metallers Sepultura, will mark the 20th anniversary of their classic album, Roots, with an Australian tour this September.

The legendary duo are set to play the album in full during five dates down under, which form part of a larger world tour.

Roots was the last album that Max Cavalera recorded before leaving Sepultura, while Iggor went on to be in the band for another decade.

Whichever way you look at it though, Roots provided one of the real landmark moments in metal.

So if you don’t know, we suggest you get. to. know.

In a statement about the tour, Max said,  “Metalheads. It’s time.”

Adding, “Twenty years ago, we released the Roots album and changed the face of metal forever. Now, we’re returning to ‘The Roots’ to show everybody the magic and inspiration of the Roots live experience!”

Ensuring the party really goes off, they’ll be bringing Welsh metal outfit, Skindred, along for the ride.
