Live Nation to bring live acts to the steps of SOH

The steps of the Sydney Opera House have played host to some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Sting, Massive Attack, Jack Johnson, The National and of course the famous farewell concert that Crowded House performed in front of thousands of screaming fans.

In 2015, the Sydney Opera House steps and forecourt will be revived as part of the ‘On the Steps’ program. Live Nation has teamed up with the iconic Sydney venue to present great music acts as part of ‘Summer at the House’ series.

The first act as part of the series has been announced and it is none other than brother and sister duo Angus & Julia Stone. The siblings will perform their incredible hits and selections from the recently released self-titled album, which has been hailed as their best work – quite an achievement given their first triple-platinum album produced the Triple J Hot 100 #1 single, Big Jet Plane.

As well as seeing the amazing Angus & Julia Stone, the crowds can enjoy the music of Cloud Control, Jarryd James and Little May, who are supporting the Stones.

And in very exciting news just released, Ticketmaster and Live Nation are thrilled to announce Tim Minchin will also appear at the Sydney Opera House forecourt.

The Australian comedian – who should also be described as writer, composer, musician, songwriter and actor – will bring his unique musical comedy to the steps of the Sydney Opera House in what is certain to be a hilarious performance. The London-based Minchin is one of Australia’s most-successful exports; as well as winning countless awards for his comedy, Minchin also wrote the music and lyrics for the stage adaptation of Matilda, which has been a hit around the world and will open at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre in July 2015.

Ticketmaster is very excited to be involved with the ‘On the Steps’ program. The Sydney Opera House forecourt is a truly unique and special way to see live music acts and Ticketmaster is thrilled to play a part in connecting fans to this truly special experience.

Live Nation will release the full list of acts appearing at the Sydney Opera House as part of the ‘On the Steps’ concept shortly.
