Everybody's gonna love today, gonna love today, gonna love today
Hot Chip have been described as “the greatest British pop group of their generation” so it only makes sense that we all join them on the dancefloor when they arrive Down Under in March 2020.
Alongside slots at some of Australia’s favourite festivals including Wollongong’s Farmer and the Owl, the British five-piece have announced they’ll be taking the show on the road for a string of very exciting, and very huge, headline shows.
They’ve spent the last two decades honing their sonic wizardry, and across 15 years and seven albums, they’ve showcased it around the world, charming all who stand before them.
Their just-released seventh album, A Bath Full of Ecstasy, builds on this reputation, while singles like ‘Hungry Child’ and ‘Melody of Love’ continue to display the balance of euphoria and melancholy Hot Chip have made their brand.
This was the first time Hot Chip has worked with outside producers, so alongside the synth mastery of Joe Goddard and inimitable vocals from Alexis Taylor, Hot Chip’s sound has been injected with something a little extra thanks to the hands of French maestro Philippe Zdar and Scot Rodaidh McDonald.
As an added bonus, they’ll be joined by Melbourne funk synthesist Harvey Sutherland.
It’s been three long years since Hot Chip graced our shores, and now we’re ready to dive right back in.
Hot Chip will bring the good times to Australia in March 2020. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.
