Didn’t think Download Festival 2019 could get any bigger? Well, guess again, because they’ve just added a fresh crop of acts we’re certain will be headlining festivals in no time.

After announcing a mouth-watering selection of food and pulling together some of the biggest and best heavy acts from around the world, Download are ensuring the good news keeps on rolling – this time with the addition of the Ascension stage.

Leading the pack is Western Sydney’s Justice For The Damned. They haven’t slowed down on the touring front – following up a headline run with support slots for Thy Art Is Murder around Australia as well as a 30-date European run, before heading home to support shows with In Hearts Wake, Miss May I, and Parkway Drive, and then wrapping things up with Polaris. They aren’t showing any signs of slowing down in 2019 either, with European dates already locked in.

They’ll be joined by Brisbane’s brutal death metallers Aversions Crown, New Zealand natives Devilskin, grungey emo-punks Eat Your Heart Out, and Melbourne powerhouse The Beautiful Monument.

Download Third Lineup Announce

In other Download lineup news that isn’t so happy, American rocker Andy Black has announced that he is no longer able to play Download 2019. But every cloud has a silver lining because Californian rockers New Years Day will be taking his place.

They’ll all join the likes of Slayer, Judas Priest, Alice In Chains and more.

Can’t contain your excitement? Neither can we, so we put together this handy little playlist to get us through the pre-Download wait. The countdown is on.
