Download Festival is returning to Australia in 2019, this time for double the dose of the metal mania in Melbourne AND Sydney.

The world’s most prestigious rock and metal festival made its Australian debut this year, landing at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse in March.

It was met with 10 out of 10 reviews from metallers down under, who made the iconic festival their own with the help of headliners Korn.

Meanwhile, The Age said, “Saturday’s event packed in the fans and sent them home happy…Download was the festival Melbourne’s hard-rock tribes had been waiting three years for.”

With Kerrang!’s review adding, “Consider Download’s first trip Down Under a success. Same again in 2019 please.”

The inaugural festival was epic, and now we get to do it all over again. Twice.

As for the 2019 details…

Saturday 9 March – Parramatta Park, Sydney, NSW

Monday 11 March – Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, VIC

Prepare your diaries accordingly.

Lineup speculations begin now, but until more information arrives, let’s soak up the sweaty, beer-stained memories of 2018.

Need we remind you of the pure insanity of Korn dropping Blind in the encore? Or everything about Prophets of Rage’s set being absolute magic? Not to mention the reminiscent gold of Limp Bizkit and Good Charlotte?

What a time to be alive.

Roll on, 2019!
