Divinyls announce Australian tour
Led by founding member Mark McEntee, Divinyls are ready to return to the live stage with a new lineup in 2019.
Led by the commanding vocal stylings of the late, great Chrissy Amphlett and the guitar skills of Mark McEntee, Divinyls were a massive international success in the ‘80s-‘90s – leading the way for exciting, uncompromising rock’n’roll in Australia.
The band signed to the biggest-ever publishing deal with EMI America and went in to release hits such as Boys In Town, Only Lonely, Sleeping Beauty and, of course, I Touch Myself, which charted at #2 on the US charts in 1991.
The empowerment that was inspired by Amphlett is still felt today, and though she tragically passed in 2003, her legacy as a feminine icon still remains true.
Now McEntee is ready to bring Divinyls incredible catalogue of hits back to the stage. He’ll be joined by LA-based singer-songwriter Lauren Ruth Ward, original Blondie guitarist and Divinyls (1987-88) alumni Frank Infante, and a brand-spanking new Australian rhythm section.
