Across the year we have been working towards our goal of setting new accessibility standards across the live sector in Australia and New Zealand, and today we are one step closer.
Dermot Kennedy has just announced his biggest Australian tour dates ever.
We are still swooning over the memories of his most recent Australian visit, so you know we’ve already added these new tour dates into our calendars.
The Irish gem has recently released his album Without Fear and he’ll be bringing his new tunes to our stages in May next year.
From busking on the streets of his native Dublin to watching Without Fear zoom straight to #1 on the UK Album Chart (knocking off the reissue of a little album called Abbey Road for good measure), Kennedy is well on his way to international stardom. Especially since the #1 makes him the first Irish solo artist to score the spot for a debut album in nearly 20 years.
Kennedy has become a regular visitor Down Under, hitting both Falls and Splendour in the Grass festivals in recent years as well as taking his tunes around your favourite local venues. Watching the swiftness of his rise Down Under, we can only guess the size of the venues he’ll be filling on his next visit.
We know you don’t need any convincing, but just in case, check out our review from one of his shows earlier this year.
Dermot Kennedy will bring his new album Without Fear to Australia in May 2020. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.
