David Burd aka Lil Dicky or LD is an American rapper/comedian. He grew up in an upper middle class Jewish family in Philadelphia and came to prominence after releasing a music video for his song “Ex-Boyfriend” which went viral, with over one million views in 24 hours. Burd then launched a Kickstarter campaign stating, “I’ve officially run out of money… In a nutshell, you are funding phase two of my rap career.” Raising a huge $113,000 he released his debut album Professional Rapper in July 2015.

Lil Dicky’s style blends the comical with the relatable, which is clearly present on Professional Rapper. He moves away from the unattainable of popping bottles in the club to rapping about staying in for the night, or being a Jewish Kid with overbearing parents. Professional Rapper features artists Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, Rich Homie Quan, Fetty Wap, Hannibal Buress plus heaps more.

It’s no surprise with the calibre of artists on Professional Rapper, Lil Dicky delivers some banger tracks. “$ave Dat Money” features Fetty Wap & Rich Homie Quan. The song is catchy, upbeat and funny it’s a classic LD track. “Professional Rapper” teams Lil Dicky with Snoop Dogg, a personal favourite which showcases Lil Dicky’s skills with switching up tempo and rapping with excessive speed. Lil Dicky’s niche is that he is relatable and he plays up to that throughout the entire album.
