This is one of those gigs you hear about and instantly know it’s going to be totally epic.

Dance and electro icon, Armand Van Helden, is teaming up with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for a spectacular performance at Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

The New York artist will make his first appearance on Aussie soil in seven years, as he collaborates with MSO’s 70-piece orchestra.

“For over 20 years, Armand Van Helden has been on the cutting edge of dance music,” say Rolling Stone, “both breaking down walls between genres and accidentally opening up new ones in the process.”

Following the success of 2016’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl performance featuring techno legends Jeff Mills & Derrick May, Symphonica is said to be the first in a new annual series of collaborations between MSO and contemporary musicians.

Armand Van Helden and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will come together on Saturday 27 January at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne.
