Indie favourite Patrick Wolf is heading back to our neck of the woods after a long stint away and we couldn’t be more ready for the South Londoner to come and serenade us. We’ve picked some of the best reasons to get excited for his upcoming gig at the Tivoli, Brisbane.

1.

As we mentioned, it’s been a really long time between Aussie shows.

As it turns out the adored indie star doesn’t tour that often, and when he does Wolf makes sure he wows his audiences with his incredible vocals and instrumental talent, making the wait worth their while.

2.

We like to think he might have some new tricks up his sleeve.

Patrick Wolf hasn’t released an album since Sundark and Riverlight back in 2012, so it’s safe to say we’re expecting something new. If he’s not ready to share new music, we’re hoping he’ll put his unique twist on some old hits with those instrumentals he does all too well. Either way we’re excited!

3.

This gig is set to be a treat for the eyes as well as the ears.

The quirky musician has tweeted a couple of hints about what he’ll be wearing when he comes to see us and frankly we can’t wait. We’re expecting a fantasy land of gothic glamour by the looks of it. Read em’ and weep with excitement below:

4.

We’re expecting classic Wolf tracks on this tour.

Whilst we’re praying to hear a new track or two from the talented singer songwriter, we’re expecting to hear a lot of the classics on this eagerly anticipated return to Australia. Who hasn’t danced round their room to The Magic Potion or Hard Times fantasising about seeing it live? We know we have!

5. He’ll be slaying the instrumentals.

If you’ve been lucky enough to see this guy live before, you can’t help but be hypnotised by the way this guy rocks out on the keys, or works those strings. We’ve never seen anyone shred the viola like he does and that’s what makes him so unique. Pairing all this with his vocal talent on stage really gives audiences something to shout about.
