The 2020 Australian Open is finally here.

Starting Monday 20 January, the Australian Open begins with plenty of entertainment both on and off the court.

Australian Open top ticket recommendation:

While there are always superstars on Rod Laver and Margaret Court Arenas, you can still reserve seats undercover on Melbourne Arena for day one.

Starting at 11am, Australian Andrew Harris is in action facing off against 8th seed Italian Matteo Berrettini. Competing in his first Grand Slam, Harris will have his work cut out for him, but as we know, Australians can pull off the extraordinary in front of their home fans.

Former number 1 Caroline Wozniacki will follow, taking on American Kristie Ahn. Wozniacki has announced her retirement following the Australian Open, so will be hoping for one last deep Grand Slam run to sign off with.

The Australian Open will be Caroline Wozniacki’s last hurrah.

Fan-favourite Grigor Dimitrov (18th seed) will take on Argentinian Juan Londero (ranked world number 50) on Melbourne Arena.

The day’s play will conclude with our very own Sam Stosur in action, hoping for a promising start against Qualifier Catherine McNally, a rising 18-year-old from the United States.

With tickets starting at just $110 on Melbourne Arena, you’ll score a reserved seat undercover, four world-class clashes on court, two Aussies in action, a former world number 1, and plenty of unbelievable tennis. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Australian Open Day 1 – Aussies in action:

Plenty of Aussies will be competing on day one, including Jordan Thompson, Lizette Cabrera, Max Purcell, John-Patrick Smith, and Marc Polmans.

Our pick of the Australians is John Millman, who is facing Frenchman Ugo Humbert on court three, fresh from winning the Auckland Open.

On the outside courts:

If you prefer to wander around the outside courts, ground passes will only cost you $54, and $5 for kids.

Some of our top picks include:

Feliciano Lopez v Roberto Bautista Agut (9)

It’s the battle of the Spaniards as former world number 12 Lopez faces current top ten star, Bautista Agut.

Off the back of an appearance in the inaugural ATP Cup Final, Bautista Agut will have to overturn past fortunes here, with Lopez having the wood over him on hard court in their previous match-ups. You can catch this one on court 13.

How deep can Roberto Bautista Agut go this Australian Open?

Madison Keys (10) v Daria Kasatkina

Powerful American Madison Keys is an excitement machine on court, and this will be no different as she faces world number 70, 22-year-old Kasatkina.

Coming off a Final appearance in the Brisbane International, Keys is primed for a big year as she looks to go one better than her previous best at the Open, a Semi-Final appearance in 2015.

Diego Schwartzman (14) v Lloyd Harris

The Argentine is renowned for his amazing court-coverage, as he faces rising youngster Lloyd Harris. Harris will be up for the fight, after making the Final of the Adelaide International in his preparations for the Open.

The two will battle off on court 7.

AO Live Stage:

Don’t forget there is just as much happening off-court around Melbourne Park, headlined by the AO Live Stage. Day one will see Cub Sport kick it all off at 7.30pm, supported by Hatchie who will open the night at 6.10pm.
