Kinky Boots is sashaying its way into Sydney’s Capitol Theatre

Multi-award winning musical Kinky Boots has confirmed plans to open in Sydney from April 2017.

The thrilling theatre news follows the shows stunning success at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne.

Kinky Boots has pretty much bagged every major international Best Musical award there is and features Tony and Grammy-winning songs by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by Broadway royalty Harvey Fierstein and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.

“Australian audiences have embraced this show so enthusiastically I am delighted, together with my partners Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, to announce a Sydney season so that even more people can experience the joy and fun of Kinky Boots and the talents of this phenomenal cast,” said Australian Producer Michael Cassel.

Callum Francis and Toby Francis lead the company as principal characters Lola (the fabulously flamboyant entertainer in need of some seriously sturdy stilettos) and Charlie (the small-town man who becomes inspired by Lola’s outrageous vision).

Francis is the British star making his Australian debut directly from London, where he wowed audiences as the understudy Lola on the West End stage and performed in UK productions of The Lion King, Ghost and Miss Saigon.

It’s flirty, it’s heart-warming and it’s opening at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre from April 2017.
