TM’s School Holidays Guide to having a good time – WA edition

Alice in Wonderland
Leederville Town Hall
July 8-10 – Daily at 10am and 11.30am

Fall down the rabbit hole and into a world of fun with Alice in Wonderland during the school holidays. The performances of Alice in Wonderland at the Leederville Town Hall are based on the 1865 Lewis Carroll novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The productions are full of audience participation that will keep your kids feeling part of the show along with Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit. Alice in Wonderland is playing twice daily between July 8 and 10.

AFL: Fremantle v GWS Giants
Patersons Stadium
Sunday July 13 – 2.40pm

Join the purple haze at Patersons Stadium when Fremantle takes on the GWS Giants on Sunday July 13 at 2.40pm. Last year’s Grand Finalists are hoping to go one better in 2014 and a win over the Giants will take the Dockers one step closer to securing the all-important home final. Fremantle will play three further home matches at Patersons Stadium in 2014 including against Carlton on July 31 at 6.10pm, against Hawthorn on August 17 at 2.40pm and against Port Adelaide in Round 23 (time and date TBC).

Super Rugby: Western Force v Qld Reds

Saturday July 5 – 5.40pm

The Western Force will play its final home match of 2014 at nib Stadium on Saturday July 5 at 5.40pm. Force currently sits third on the Australian conference ladder and seventh overall after eight wins so far in 2014. As well as boasting many of Super Rugby’s best players, the Western Force is also the home of sport’s newest cult hero Nick Cummins aka the Honey Badger. The 26-year old Wallabies winger has become an internet sensation and will be a crowd favourite when the Force takes on the Reds.

Subiaco AFC v Floreat Athena

Saturday July 5 – 11am

If the World Cup in Brazil has given your kids football fever, take them along to see local side Subiaco FC take on Floreat Athena at the WA Athletics Stadium on July 5. Subiaco AFC plays in the National Premier League (NPL), the highest standard league in Australia outside the A-League. The matches are at the family-friendly time of 11am Saturday mornings with the club playing Floreat Athena on July 5. Subiaco AFC will also host Bayswater City on July 26, Balcatta on August 2 and Inglewood United on August 9.

AFL: West Coast v Sydney

Sunday July 6 – 1.20pm

The Eagles and Swans have shared a passionate and exciting rivalry in recent years. West Coast will welcome Sydney to Patersons Stadium during the school holidays in a match that will be critical to both teams’ finals hopes in 2014. West Coast is battling for a spot in the top eight, while the Swans will be keen to secure a top two finish and home final. The firepower of the Swans is well known – can the Eagles contain Buddy and co or will it be the West Coast big men troubling the Sydney’s back line?  West Coast will also host Richmond on July 25, Collingwood on August 10 and Melbourne in Round 23 (date and time TBC) at Patersons Stadium in 2014.
