Live: Northlane treat Oz fans to intimate pre-tour shows

Sydney metallers, Northlane, treated local fans to a string of intimate shows last week ahead of their UK tour with label mates The Amity Affliction.

We headed down to the Melbourne date at The Corner Hotel to catch the metalcore mob in all their mayhem.

Joining them were Hellions and Polaris, who kicked up equal doses of fury before the headline act.

Having played Melbourne’s Festival Hall back in June, this Corner Hotel affair sees Northlane bring their large-scale production to a much smaller stage. But it’s one that carries enormous weight in Australia’s alternative scene and is a particular favourite with tonight’s headliners.

Northlane are relentless in their delivery from the first flash of strobe lighting, with vocalist Marcus Bridge in full command while his band mates dip and duck below the haze of the smoke-filled stage.

Total euphoria. UK and Europe fans, you have been warned.
