Legends in the Making: Perth’s Tired Lion

Tired Lion have been beating at the boundaries of Perth’s alt.music circuit for a few years now, but 2017 feels like the year this quartet are properly breaking out.

Sending ripples through Australia’s rock scene with scuzzy synths, thick indie-pop choruses and angsty riffs, Tired Lion – Sophie Hopes, Matt Tanner, Ethan Darnell and Nick Vasey – have mastered their sonic loveliness with 2017’s Cinderella Dracula.

This brilliant track is the first release from Tired Lion’s forthcoming, debut album.

The four-piece were recognised with triple j’s Unearthed Arts of the Year Award in 2015, as singles Suck and I Don’t Think You Like Me caught the attention of music critics throughout Australia and beyond.

So much is the attention outside of Oz, in fact, that the band will be repping Australia at several iconic UK festivals later this year.
