Bluesfest nails first artist announcement
The Byron Bay Bluesfest has a reputation for providing a cracking line up year-after-year and if the first artist announcement is anything to go by 2015 is no exception.
The Black Keys will headline the event, which will be held at Byron Bay over the Easter long weekend (Thursday April 2 – Monday April 6). Joining them is Zac Brown Band, Alabama Shakes, Train, Michael Franti and Spearhead, as well as Australian acts such as Xavier Rudd and Paul Kelly, who will be joined by Dan Sultan, Kira Puru and Vika and Linda Bull.
As always, the first announcement is just a taste of the amazing acts coming to the festival with many more to be announced over the coming months.
The Byron Bay Bluesfest has become one of the must-see music festivals on the Australian festival calendar. The idyllic setting and incredible array of artists makes it an incredible experience. The huge site has various accommodation options that suit all budgets from camping to tent motels and tipis.
The infrastructure continues to grow, which makes the festival more comfortable year-after-year. As well as seven performance stages, there are 50-plus market stalls, 40-plus food stalls and five licenced bars.
But of course, the best thing about the Byron Bay Bluesfest is the incredible artists it can attract. Previous performers include Bob Dylan, John Mayer, Paul Simon, Joss Stone, Robert Plant, Ben Harper, Cold Chisel, Sarah McLachlan, John Fogarty, BB King, Santana, Crowded House… we could go on and on.
